Running wild & free with the Feel New mocktail
This summer it’s all about being kind to ourselves, each other and our planet. And what better way to bring this all together than by celebrating FairWild Week, which runs from 20th to 24th June. Fair Wild Week exists to celebrate the power and beauty of wild plants and the multitude of ways humans can reap their goodness – all while treating them with the respect they deserve.
We’re raising a glass to all things wild, free and beautiful with a Feel New mocktail, designed to get you feeling beautiful from the inside out. Here’s the recipe…
Feel New mocktail
- 2 persons
We all know that alcohol isn’t kind on our skin, so for this mocktail we’re combining our FairWild certified, Pukka Feel New tea with some fresh and zingy non-alcoholic ingredients to create an elixir to refresh and boost your radiance.
Ingredients:
Three Pukka Feel New teabags
Organic honey
One lemon, for juice and slices
Fresh coriander, for garnish
Ice cubes
Method:
Pour 750ml of boiling water over three Pukka Feel New teabags.
Let the mixture seep for 30 minutes in a container with a lid.
Remove the tea bags and add honey to taste as well as adding a squeeze of lemon.
Garnish with lemon slices and fresh coriander.
Leave to refrigerate and serve chilled, with or without ice cubes.
A word on FairWild
We humans don’t know much about how the trade of wild plant species is affecting their existence as only one fifth have had their threat status assessed. The little data we have says that more than one in ten plant species are at risk of extinction in the wild. The climate emergency, as well as the increasing and widespread demand for wild-plant ingredients is placing major strain on the species themselves, the habitats and ecosystems they exist in, and their harvesting communities.
To maintain the health of both ourselves and our planet, we can all make small choices to help make a difference – such as thinking about what brands we are buying our products from. When it comes to the food & drink industry and the beauty industry, for example, a vast majority of ingredients in products come from wild plants, but very few are sourced in a sustainable way. This is where FairWild steps in; to make things easier for us to know that we are buying from companies who put the protection of wild plant species, as well as a respect for deeply rooted traditions and cultures, at their hearts. Next time you are out shopping, simply look out for products that have the FairWild certified logo.
Here's to a healthier planet and a healthier you – cheers!
